The role has been created by splitting the duties of Phil Oxenham, its head of proposition marketing.
The company, which is part of Old Mutual Wealth, said it has split the role to enable separate focuses on its UK and international customer propositions.
Hawkins has worked at Skandia for more than 15 years. He will now have responsibility for the development and marketing of the company’s customer propositions in the UK, including platform, pensions and investment solutions. Oxenham will focus solely on international business.
The Southampton-headquartered company said the expansion of its proposition marketing team follows a number of “significant additions” to the company including the launch of the WealthSelect investment proposition in the UK and the international expansion of Wealth Interactive.
“This is a really exciting time for our business as we set in place our vision of becoming the UK’s leading retail investment business,” Hawkins said. “We have taken some key strategic steps recently, with the acquisition of Intrinsic, and the development of WealthSelect,” he added.
