JPM hires BBC's Stephanie Flanders

|

She is currently the BBC news and economics editor.

Flanders will be based in London, reporting to David Kelly, chief global strategist for JP Morgan Funds. Her role will be similar to her current public sector role as she will “deliver insight into the economy and financial markets”, according to the official press release.

A spokesperson confirmed that her audience will be professional investors across the  UK and Europe although her economic remit will be global.

Flanders has served as economics editor of the BBC since April 2008, having previously been a reporter at the New York Times and Financial Times, as well as a speech writer and senior advisor to US Treasury Secretaries Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers during the Clinton Administration.

She will work alongside Andrew Goldberg, global market strategist and head of the market insights strategy team in Europe, who provides market insight to clients across the UK and Europe.

His focus is on overseeing the quarterly guide to the markets, strategy and management.

Both report to Kelly.
