According to Miles O’Conner, head of European institutional business at the firm, not only has UK institutional business has grown from £30.5bn in 2009 to £54.1bn at the end of March 2014, but also, regulatory compliance burden has increased.

Cheetham, who was formerly head of EMEA consultants at Blackrock will be managing a team of more than 20 senior staff that service 800 clients and £53.8 billion of assets under management, Schroders said on Monday. He will join the UK Institutional Management Team and will report to O’Connor.
