Seilern IM’s eponymous founder Peter Seilern (pictured) will retire as chair and CIO at the end of 2024 after a career spanning over 50 years.

He founded Seilern in 1989 as a quality growth-focused fund house.

Tassilo Seilern will succeed Peter Seilern as executive chair at the end of the year, while portfolio manager Corentin Massin has been promoted to chief investment officer.

Quentin Macfarlane will step up to become the firm’s head of research.

Peter Seilern said: “After much consideration and preparation, I have decided that now is the right time to hand over the reins to a new generation, having had the pleasure of working closely with Tassilo for over a decade.

“The team is as strong as it has ever been, the philosophy clear and the process fully established. We are all aligned on what Seilern is and what it should be. I look forward to seeing the firm flourish under Tassilo’s leadership.”

The boutique firm manages three funds in the IA universe, including the £1.8bn Seilern World Growth fund, the £250m Seilern America and £57m Seilern Europa funds.
