Franklin Templeton has realigned its distribution leadership, combining its Americas (ex-US), European and UK businesses, while UK head Martyn Gilbey is set to exit the firm later this year.

The new enlarged division will be led by Matt Harrison (pictured right) head of Americas (ex-US), Europe & UK, global advisory services. He will continue to report to Adam Spector, EVP, Global Advisory Services.

The combined region represents $245bn (£193bn) in assets under management.

Meanwhile, current UK head Gilbey will exit in October after seven years at the firm.

He will be succeeded by Andrew Ashton (pictured left), who will relocate to the UK while continuing his current responsibilities as chair of the Franklin Templeton Canada board. He was previously head of Americas (ex-US) and head of global financial institutions.

Spector said: “In recent years, we’ve substantially expanded our investment capabilities, strengthening our value proposition for our clients. Our extensive global presence continues to be a competitive advantage, reinforcing our commitment to and confidence in local markets.”
