Rudd, who has worked for JPM most recently in New York as an equity derivatives strategist will join the 25-strong team that provides analysis, investment recommendations, implementation strategies and management for SLI’s range of multi-asset funds.

The largest of these is SLI’s Global Absolute Return Strategies Fund, which launched in 2008 and has approximately £13bn in AUM.

Back in September three of Standard Life Investments’ multi-asset team members jumped ship to join Invesco Perpetual and set up a brand new multi-asset proposition for the group.

At the time SLI said David Millar, David Jubb and Richard Batty were not deemed critical to the processes and systems for running GARS and that Euan Munro and Guy Stern, head of multi-asset investing and fixed income and head of multi-asset fund management, respectively, were more important.

Commenting on this most recent appointment, Munro said: “We constantly strive to provide clients with the best possible investment solutions and that means having the right people in place to help understand and meet investor’s needs and expectations.

“Adam’s skills as a quantitatively oriented derivatives specialist will add to the already impressive range of knowledge and experience within the multi-asset investments team.”

Last week Morningstar OBSR reinstated Standard Life GARS’ suspended bronze rating after meeting with the team and deciding Munro and Stern remained focused on the successful management of the fund and have taken positive steps to strengthen the team.
