Maxime Carmignac’s appointment comes three and a half years after she returned to Carmignac Gestion following a short spell in New York working on distressed debt for Visium Asset Management.

She originally started at her father’s company in January 2006 and worked as an analyst in the energy and consumer sectors.

On re-joining the independent asset manager she managed the Market Neutral Fund, but no longer runs any money.

In her new role Carmignac will work alongside Matthew Wright who is the head of country and will focus on the company’s long-term strategy in the UK.

The firm’s UK retail funds are now available on four platforms – Ascentric, Axa Elevate, Raymond James and Novia.

Maxime Carmignac is now also a member of Carmignac Gestion Group’s Strategic Development Committee.
