Webb has returned to the Quilter Cheviot fold from just over a year-long stint at Investec Wealth & Investment as an investment manager.

Before that, he was an investment manager at Quilter Cheviot for nearly 4 years.

The Old Mutual Wealth-owned Quilter Cheviot oversees £1.2bn worth of clients’ assets within its managed portfolio service (MPS) as at 31 December 2016.

He will support the MPS lead portfolio manager Simon Doherty and the multi-asset team’s co-director of investment, Ben Mountain, and work closely with professional intermediaries and their clients.

Doherty said of Webb’s appointment: “Antony returns to the team with a fresh perspective and real enthusiasm to challenge established processes and explore new ideas from an investment perspective.

“Indeed, his strengths are highly complementary to what we already have in the team. While we have excellent heritage as an MPS provider, we remain committed to staying at the forefront of the market.

“In spite of increased competition, we see tremendous opportunity ahead for our MPS range as advisers continue to adapt their business models, outsourcing investment management so that they can focus on financial planning.”
