Newton
Sticking with non-executive positions, Newton Investment Management announced on Tuesday it has appointed Henrietta Jowitt and Susan Noble as independent non-executive directors.
The first independent non-executive directors appointed by Newton, Jowitt and Noble will join the existing Board of seven executive directors and two BNY Mellon directors.
According to Newton, Noble career has included key roles at Robert Fleming Asset Management and Goldman Sachs Asset Management, while Jowitt has held a number of senior marketing roles with stints at both Advent International Corporation and Schroders.
Rathbones
From non-execs to risk, Rathbones has created the role of chief risk officer for Sarah Owen-Jones.
Owen-Jones, who brings over 20 years’ experience to the position, joins from RBS where she was most recently head of transformational risk and services risk oversight, Rathbones said.
Philip Howell, Rathbones’ chief executive said, “Over recent years, Rathbones has demonstrated very significant growth and has recently laid out a strategy signalling continued growth aspirations. It is therefore timely to add a Chief Risk Officer to our senior management team. We feel very fortunate to have attracted someone of Sarah’s professional standing within the industry to Rathbones.”
Old Mutual Wealth
Old Mutual Wealth has also created a new executive role chief distribution officer, to be filled in September by Mary-Anne McIntyre
McIntyre will report to CEO, Paul Feeney, and the firm said her appointment will add significant experience and strength to its senior executive team “after a period of substantial expansion.”
According to the firm, the role will “draw together all distribution activities across Old Mutual Wealth’s vertically integrated business, as well as product development and marketing”.
McIntyre joins from Openwork where she was CEO. Her position there will be filled with immediate effect by Mark Duckworth, who has been Managing Director of Openwork since 2011.
Julius Baer
Julius Baer, expanded its coverage of the North West of the UK with two senior level hires from Barclays. Jonathan Holland and Robert Websdale have joined the firm’s London office with a focus on developing its business in the North of England.
Tilney Bestinvest
Tilney Bestinvest, has expanded its financial planning team with the hire of Cathy Geary as associate director of financial planning.
According to Tilney, Greary, who joins from Arthur J Gallagher, will focus on clients in the Northampton area and will report into Neil Watson, Director, Financial Planning.
