The first in a number of invitation-only events took place this morning in Edinburgh as part of a series of roundtables around the country between now and the launch of the firm’s first fund, CF Woodford Equity Income, on 2 June.

Woodford, one of the best equity investors of his generation is launching not just a new fund but a new company, Woodford Investment Management. He will explain his own investment philosophy and his role within the new company to key investment decision-makers in the weeks leading up to the fund launch.

Portfolio Adviser was selected because of the strength of the publication’s relationship with precisely this audience of investment specialist intermediaries.

Portfolio Adviser has been read by such fee-based intermediaries since its launch back in 2006. Over this time, it has proven time and again its ability to successfully combine a monthly investment strategy magazine with online news analysis, specialist investment guides and the 24 events it will run during this calendar year alone.

Simon Dale, head of retail sales at Woodford Investment Management, said: “Portfolio Adviser is very well placed indeed to get us in front of influential individuals in the build-up to the launch of Neil’s first fund as part of Woodford Investment Management.

“Having worked with them in the past for a number of years, I know they are also capable of delivering well-run events in front of the audience we want.”

Gary Corcoran, editorial director of Portfolio Adviser, added: “We are extremely proud that Woodford Investment Management has chosen to work with us in the launch of their new venture. Neil’s track record in investment management is second to none, as is our ability to get the right fund managers in front of the right fund buyers through our magazine, website, specialist guides and events.”
