Dobson and Hodson join the board of the £744.3m trust immediately, enhancing its investment trust credentials, the company said.

According to WPCT chair Susan Searle, the trust is a natural fit for Dobson and Hodson who both have experience in the space.

Searle added: “They both have extensive and high level experience within the financial sector, and specifically within the investment trust sector, and will complement the existing non-executive directors of the company who hold a strong background in the development and growth of healthcare and technology businesses from early stage to maturity.”

Dobson currently sits on the boards of the Schroder UK Growth Fund and Nest Corporation and was recently appointed to the board of BlackRock Latin America Investment Trust.

She also serves as chairman of Aberdeen Smaller Companies Income Trust and JPMorgan European Smaller Companies Trust.

Formerly of UBS, Hodson was the chairman of BlackRock’s commodities income trust until 2015. He is currently a non-executive director of JPMorgan Elect and HarbourVest Global Private Equity.
