Whittingham, who is one of the founders of the research house established in January 2014 has taken the decision to move back to South Africa.
“We have been here for 25 years and our parents are old and frail. It has been a very difficult decision, not least because of all our family here, but we feel we owe it to our parents to move back.”
Whittingham adds that what has made the decision even harder is the strong working relationship with co-founder Richard Romer Lee. “We are more than just business associates, we have become good friends.”
As a result of this, while he will step back from his current executive director role, Whittingham retains his shares in the business and will become a non-executive director and a consultant to the business in 2015.
Prior to his role at the research consultancy, he was managing director at Morningstar OBSR and has previously held roles at Insight and Edinburgh Fund Managers.
