Kevin Smith has landed at WH Ireland as an investment manager in its wealth management division, having left Ruffer after nearly 17 years in the summer.
Smith (pictured) was most recently an investment director at Ruffer, a role he held from October 2018 until he left the firm in June 2022, according to his Linkedin page. He was an investment manager for the nine years before that, during which time he managed a range of client portfolios, including private clients, charities, trusts, and pensions.
Smith joining the firm’s London office marks the tenth appointment WH Ireland has made in the last nine months. However, the firm has also seen several investment managers taking on opportunities elsewhere.
Head of wealth management Michael Bishop said: “We are delighted to welcome Kevin to WH Ireland. He will be a great asset to the wealth management team given his considerable experience in managing and maintaining client relationships and portfolios.”
Smith added: “WH Ireland has a longstanding history of putting clients first, with a differentiated offering combining investment management and financial planning to the benefit of client outcomes. I’m thrilled to be joining the business at this exciting moment and look forward to working with the team as it continues to build on the momentum achieved over the past year.”
