Waverton Investment Management has appointed Seb Dovey to its board as it “begins the next chapter in its growth journey”.

Dovey (pictured) was co-founder of wealth management consultancy Scorpio Partnership, which was acquired by Aon in 2014.

A press release said he joins as Waverton enters a phase of “commercial acceleration” with chief executive Nick Tucker stating Dovey will be a sounding board as the business integrates its investment management and financial planning capabilities. “Seb is well known in the industry as someone who can successfully articulate the ‘voice of the client’.”

Meanwhile, Dovey described Waverton as an “industry gem for client centricity and performance”. He already serves on the advisory board of Moneyhub, is a non-executive director at Ficomm and chairman of F2 Strategy.

Waverton chairman David Rosier said Dovey’s “skills in transformational change will be vital as Waverton begins the next chapter in its growth journey”.

“Having co-founded what became the leading wealth management consultancy, Scorpio Partnership, there is arguably nobody who knows more about the development of the wealth management industry over the past 20 years than Seb,” Rosier said.
