The Luxembourg regulated Ucits IV fund, which is managed by Dan Wasiolek generally invests in companies with market caps between $1.5bn and $15bn and maintains a fully invested portfolio, holding 40-70 securities.

Michael Hunt, managing director of VAM Funds, said: "The sterling share class is an important step in giving GBP investors easy access to the fund.

"This move has been driven by demand from advisers wishing to offer the fund to their sterling investors in a form that protect them from exposure to currency risk."

Wasiolek uses the Driehaus Capital Management Mid Cap strategy, which helped him deliver returns of 29.03% in the 12 months to 31 August, compared to benchmark returns of 18.5%.

Over two years to 31 August the fund has returned 41.97%, compared to 24.32% from its benchmark (the S&P 500).

The fund and share class are both FSA approved and while the fund cannot go into an onshore product as it would be tax offensive, it is fully permissable through all onshore life company portfolio bonds as well as custody accounts and trusts.

It is also available through several platforms used within the UK, which are Acentric, Transact and Nucleus.
