Under a new agreement with Skandia International the four VAM funds managed by Driehaus Capital Management LLC, will be available to advisers and their clients with immediate effect.

The funds are VAM Driehaus Fund, VAM Emerging Markets Growth Fund, VAM US Mid Cap Growth Fund, and VAM US Small Cap Fund.

VAM sales director Nigel Watson said: “While VAM has very strong connections in the IFA market around the world it is a major ‘tick in the box’ for the company to become a business partner of Royal Skandia and be added to their fund range. The VAM funds above have all produced a first or second quartile performance.

He added that he believes the link with Skandia International will prove to be a major stepping stone in the growth of VAM due to Royal Skandia’s extensive offshore product proposition and strong relationships with financial advisers.

“This new initiative should also enable us to extend the availability of our funds with IFA’s seeking to widen their investment offer to their clients,” he said.

Driehaus Capital Management LLC is an independent investment adviser based in Chicago, Illinois with approximately $7.75bn in assets under management.

The firm manages global equities employing a growth style investment strategy developed over the past 30 years and the key focus of the investment philosophy focuses on the idea that company specific earnings growth is the primary driver of stock prices over the long-term. The aim is to exploit specific inefficiencies using a bottom-up fundamental approach, while also factoring in the top-down macroeconomic environment.

Phil Oxenham, marketing manager at Skandia International, said: “Having received a high level of interest in the VAM funds from international advisers and customers, we are pleased to be able to meet this demand by making the funds available on the Royal Skandia fund range.”
