Schroders says Armitage is leaving to return to Australia for family reasons. Joanna Shatney, previously a portfolio manager within the US large cap equity team, will take over Armitage’s role as head of that team with immediate effect.

The firm adds that Virginie Maisonneuve, head of global and international equities, “will continue to be final decision maker on investment decisions for all global and international mandates”

“The global and international equity team is based on team work and transparency as well as a robust approach to managing our clients’ money and a diversified product range,” said Maisonneuve.

“We have delivered top quartile performance across the board and I am confident that our well-resourced team can continue to deliver competitive performance and that our clients will recognise the quality of the team”.

Armitage, meanwhile, is to take up a role at Australia’s MCI Investment Management later this year.
