According to a survey from Schroders, 55% of UK investors were happy with their investments, the only country in Europe where more than half were contented.
In the survey more than 1,400 affluent investors were polled across 10 European countries.
Next happiest were the German’s, with 50% pleased with their investments, while more investors in the eight other countries were not happy with their decisions.
Meanwhile, the top regret for UK investors (16%) was not starting to invest at a younger age, with an additional 13% saying they wished they had invested more capital.
Almost one in 10 UK investors also said they regretted being too conservative with their investment decisions during the past year.
Unsurprisingly, the chief market concern for UK investors in 2011 was the eurozone debt crisis, with 60% citing it as their prime worry.
The continuation of current low levels of interest rates also represented a significant concern, with 52% of UK respondents saying it worried them.
Investors in Austria were the least happy with their investments, with only 5% responding positively about their decisions.
The other countries included in the survey were, in order of least-contented through to most-contented: Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, France, Sweden and Belgium.
