While the company is not yet able to confirm when the RDR-friendly models will be available, further details are expected in the near future.
In the meantime, Cheal’s role will be to help lead the sales and marketing across Rowan Dartington’s operations. He will be based in the company’s head office in Bristol although his remit is UK-wide, with an emphasis on the south where the majority of its business is written. With RDR in mind, his role includes supporting Signature, that part of its business dedicated to supporting third-party investment professionals.
Cheal has held senior management positions with life companies Prudential and Legal & General. At the former he was responsible for the retirement savings division’s market proposition; at the latter he had a varied career including spells on the sales side with the company’s financial consultancy division, before moving into the wealth management division where he became a product development director.
