John White, chief executive of Baker Tilly Financial Management (BTFM), will be quitting. He is due to leave at the end of June along with Mike Toole head of financial management operations and Charles Haygarth head of compliance.

Meanwhile John Porteous has been appointed as head of client proposition and will be present on the executive team. He was previously head of wealth management at Baker Tilly Financial Management. He takes on the role formerly held by David Middleton, who held the position for seven years until his recent departure.

Garry Appleton will also be joining the executive committee as head of risk and compliance, taking over from Alex Macallan. The appointment is still subject to regulatory approval.

“We have recently undergone a period of rapid expansion following a number of acquisitions and have ambitious plans for the future,” Rob Devey, chief executive officer, commented.

Former Northern Rock executive Ron Sandler joined as chairman in March and started his new role this month.
