Tilney Smith & Williamson has bolstered its London investment team with a double hire from Sandaire.
James Green and Justine Harper have been hired by the £52bn DFM as investment manager and executive account manager respectively.
The pair join from multi-family office Sandaire, which was acquired by Schroders’ wealth arm Cazenove Capital last year. Green spent close to six years conducting investment research and managing multi-asset portfolios for ultra high net worth family groups and charities, while Harper worked as a senior operations manager for eight years.
Tilney Smith & Williamson said Harper will work with investment managers on “more complex mandates,” often reporting in currencies other than sterling. Prior to Sandaire she worked as an investment administration manager at Taylor Young Investment Management. She is a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Green is a CFA charterholder and recently passed the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.
Commenting on the appointments, Tilney Smith & Williamson director Philip Todd said: “I am very pleased to welcome James and Justine to the team. Both individuals have a considerable amount of industry experience which I know will be a great asset to our growing investment management business and our clients.”
Tilney Smith & Williamson has been ramping up recruitment this year, announcing hires for its South East and Northern Ireland outposts. Earlier this month the DFM revealed it had established a dedicated investment team in Newcastle.
Assets under management at Tilney Group nearly doubled to £51.2bn in 2020 thanks to its merger with Smith & Williamson. The firm intends to roll out a hybrid digital advice service.
