Tilney has nabbed Mike Divers from Brooks Macdonald to become director of investment management.
Divers was senior investment director and head of office for the Midlands at Brooks, where he worked 10 years.
He has 19 years experience in the industry and joins Tilney’s Birmingham office.
Tilney head of Midlands investment management Adam Parker said Divers was “well respected within both the investment management and intermediary community”.
Tilney is looking to strengthen its presence in the Midlands, Parker said.
In February, Tilney appointed Chris Moore as an associate investment director in Birmingham.
Moore joined from Smith & Williamson, which Tilney is now in the process of merging with to create a £45bn wealth manager.

The hires follow hot on the heels of Marcus Holden-Craufurd, who joined JM Finn last week, also from Rathbones.
Holden-Craufurd had been at Rathbones for 13 years.
