Admans said: “If our top-ten traded funds can be viewed as a reliable snapshot of sentiment, it appears that investors have swung back from value to growth style investing.
“It’s worth highlighting that investors have not been significantly allocating to the US and this may be a reflection of stretched US equity valuations.”
Investors also preferred to make regional sector bets during May, with India, Japan and Europe standing out as the most popular regions to back.
