Abigail Rotheroe has been appointed to the board of Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust (Temit) as a non-executive director.

Rotheroe (pictured) will take up the role at the BestInvest buy-listed trust on 1 November.

She was most recently an investment director at Snowball Impact Management from January 2018 until September 2022. She previously spent five years at New Philanthropy Capital as head of social investment from 2013.

Paul Manduca, Temit chair, said: “I and my fellow directors are very pleased to welcome Abigail Rotheroe to the board. Abigail’s wide-ranging experience in managing investments and in the important field of sustainability complements that of the other directors and we look forward to working with her.”

Rotheroe is also a non-executive director on the boards of Baillie Gifford Shin Nippon and HydrogenOne Capital Growth, and a member of WHEB Asset Management’s Advisory Committee.

“Temit is recognised as the pioneering emerging markets investment trust with a proud history and successful track record. It has been at the forefront of this asset class for over 30 years and is still at the cutting edge of current issues like sustainability analysis. I look forward to playing my part in the future of the company and the growth of this unique investment trust,” Rotheroe said.
