Outflows from UK equity funds slowed in August, with property funds being the least popular among retail investors according to the Investment Association.
Funds investing mainly in equities saw a buying spree in April as investors ploughed in £2bn into the products, according to the latest industry sales figures.
The Investment Association has been accused of doing the ‘hokey-cokey’ with the UK Equity Income sector by two Kames Capital managers, so much so they believe the sector has become ‘redundant’.
After several months of consultation and no doubt reams of persuasive submissions, the Investment Association relaxed its rules around the UK Equity Income sector last month.
