Lowe, who was responsible for leading the collectives research team and looking after private clients, quit the investment management and accountancy firm in December, announcing his retirement plans.
Since joining Smith & Williamson in January 1995, Lowe was appointed in the role of director of investment management, before becoming a partner.
The group's investment management arm has over £14.5bn of funds under management and advice, as of 31 December 2013.
