Gerry Fowler will join the firm’s Multi Asset Investment team, bolstering idea generation and strategy implementation capabilities across the MAI fund range.

Reporting to Guy Stern, SLI’s executive director of multi-asset and macro investing, Fowler’s remit includes the Global Absolute Return Strategies, Global Advantage and Absolute Return Global Bond Strategies funds.

The appointment follows SLI launching four multi-asset strategies over the past 18 months, with Stern highlighting the capture of Fowler as another step in the firm’s push into the multi-asset space.

“Gerry is a highly skilled strategic analyst with a wealth of experience in equities and equity derivatives and will add to the already impressive range of knowledge and experience within the MAI team,” he said.

“Our absolute return and multi-asset mandates draw on a range of sophisticated investment strategies investing across all asset classes. I have no doubt that Gerry’s depth of knowledge will add to our research capability and idea generation for our whole offering.”

Arriving from a global head of equity and derivatives strategy with BNP Paribas, Fowler brings 14 years of industry experience, the majority of which was gained moving up through the ranks of Citigroup from an equity derivatives research role to global head of research strategy.
