Reporting to the firm’s group managing director, Ana Haurie, Skinner’s previous role was as a senior research analyst with JP Morgan Cazenove where he led coverage on listed hedge funds and listed offshore property funds. He also covered listed private equity, infrastructure funds and conventional equity investment companies.

His main focus for the coming year will be to continue the development of Dexion Capital’s move away from hedge funds to include infrastructure and also cover private equity closed-ended companies.

Before joining JP Morgan Cazenove, Skinner was an economist with the Food Standards Agency before leaving for the Department of Trade and Industry in September 2005.

Skinner’s hire is one of a number of changes that include a brand new product development area that will run by Roy Kuo who is currently responsible for the firm’s sell-side research coverage of listed private equity and infrastructure funds as well as for analysis and development of new alternative investment products.

Prior to joining Dexion, he worked with Aberdeen Asset Management’s private equity and infrastructure group and was the head of research at Bramdean Asset Management before that.

Elsewhere within the alternatives specialist investment bank, Robert Peel has joined its corporate finance team from Winterflood Securities. He will work alongside head of corporate finance Ravi Anand on closed-end investment funds as well as M&A transactions focused on the investment management industry.
