Former St James’s Place partnership manager Mark Tootill has been hired to lead the north east office of Standard Life-owned financial planner, 1825.

Tootill has been appointed managing director of the region for 1825 and will join the business in early July after leaving his role as senior partnership development manager at SJP.

He has 25 years’ experience in wealth management and prior to SJP held roles in Prudential and Wesleyan Assurance Society.

Tim Johnson, who has worked with 1825 for more than 20 years, has been appointed financial planning director and Steve Lloyd has been appointed financial planning and client service director based in Leeds.

Tootill said: “It continues to be an exciting time for the financial planning industry with an ever increasing demand for quality advice.

“There are significant opportunities to add value and deliver the best outcomes for customers and I am looking forward to working with the team in Leeds and the wider 1825 business to achieve this.”

Steve Murray, 1825 CEO, said: “I am delighted Mark will be joining Tim, Steve and the wider 1825 leadership team in the North East.

“Mark’s experience and expertise will further strengthen the capability we already have, as we seek to build and grow our business further.”
