Simon Melluish is to leave Henderson and take up a new private equity role outside the firm.

As a result of Melluish’s departure after 13 years with mostly a combination of Gartmore and Henderson, Antony Gifford and Viane Frost will join as senior investment manager and investment director respectively.

They will both report to Neil Rogan, head of global equities, and took up their positions on 30 June. Their appointments take Rogan’s team up to eight investment professionals running long only and absolute return propositions.

Gifford was director of North American active equities and, like Frost, has been at Henderson for nearly a decade. He joined Henderson in 2002 and will continue to co-manage, with Nick Cowley, the Henderson Horizon North American Equity fund, a Sicav. He will take on responsibilities for global hedge funds as well as the global transport sector.

Frost joined Henderson in 2001 and has held a number of roles including director of investor relations for Henderson’s private equity business. Prior to joining Henderson she was a product manager for the Merrill Lynch international equities team.
