Steve Triantafilidis has been appointed as principal and head of investments and Michael Bourke will be portfolio manager for long only strategies. Both will be based in the London office.
Triantafilidis joins the firm from Vontobel Asset Management, where he was a managing director and head of global equities. He has a background in research, portfolio management and asset allocation across long-only and long-short portfolios in a range of asset classes.
Bourke, previously partner and portfolio manager at London boutique FPP Asset Management, will work on the flagship core global emerging market strategy. This includes the Legg Mason Esemplia Global Emerging Markets Equity Fund.
The firm is planning a further four appointments to its London team, and is seeking a portfolio manager for its Hong Kong office.
