Former Schroders fund manager Gareth Isaac has joined Invesco as fixed income chief investment officer.

Isaac will take up a newly-created role and be tasked with helping Invesco’s fixed income unit grow globally, particularly in the EMEA region.

He left Schroders last August after five years as a fixed income fund manager.

Isaac will report to Rob Waldner, chief strategist and head of the multi-sector team for IFI, and lead the portfolio management and strategic investment thinking of the Global Macro team in London as well as represent the EMEA region on the IFI lnvestment Strategy Team (IST) working closely alongside Nick Tolchard, IFI’s head of EMEA.

Over 20 years Isaac has held roles managing fixed income investments at GLG Partners, SG Asset Management, Newton Investment Management and AXA Investment Management.
