Schroders has nabbed Anna O’Donoghue from Architas as it builds out its UK intermediary management team.
O’Donoghue (pictured), who was investment chief operating officer at Architas, joined Schroders this week. She becomes head of operations and governance for the UK intermediary business, a newly-created role that reports into Philip Middleton.
“We operate under a highly sophisticated governance framework and require a high calibre candidate for this role,” Middleton said.
In her most recent role, O’Donaghue was in charge of day-to-day operational aspects of the investment team, with responsibility for due diligence, product governance and regulatory change initiatives.
She had previously been head of research at Axa’s multi-manager business, where she worked for a decade.
Architas said O’Donoghue will not be directly replaced although it is recruiting for a new operational role in the investment team to provide additional support. The duties of the investment COO are being split between CIO Jaime Arguello, deputy CIO Sheldon MacDonald and the head of dealing and implementation Steve Allen.
Before Architas, she held senior investment analyst positions at BMO Global Asset Management and FundQuest – the multi-manager of BNP Paribas Asset Management.
