Schroders adds to its European equities management team

Schroders has hired Nicholette MacDonald-Brown as a fund manager in its European equities team.

She will join later in August and will report to head of European equities, Rory Bateman.

MacDonald-Brown spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs, and was a senior investor for the past three years for the European portfolio at Goldman Sachs Investment Partners. She was also lead manager of UK Small Cap between 2005 and 2008, and co-head of European and international small cap from 2007 to 2008.

This is one of many changes to Schroder’s European equities team over the past 18 months, with Bateman himself promoted to his current role when incumbent Gary Clarke left to join JP Morgan last summer. This move in itself led to subsequent European equity fund manager changes.

In March this year, the firm launched the Schroder ISF European Equity Focus Fund an unconstrained, European equity offering run by Bateman.
