Simons is the COO for the client affairs division, responsible for general management and overseeing the sales and distribution platform. He is a member of the investment manager’s executive committee, as well as a sponsor of its Next Generation programme which lays the foundation for future growth by transforming Sarasin’s digital capabilities and online client experience.

Cobbold (pictured) is head of research and ESG integration at Sarasin and is in charge of screening and researching stock ideas from the global utilities, energy and industrials universe. He is also a “key member” of Sarasin’s Stewardship Steering Committee.

Both newly minted partners have been at the asset manager since 2017. Prior to joining Simons was the COO of C Hoare & Co’s wealth management arm, which was sold to Cazenove Capital, while Cobbold spent 16 years as a global industrial, energy equity and commodity analyst and portfolio manager at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.

Sarasin CEO Guy Matthews said: “Our new partners represent the future for the partnership, adding to the continuity of management, investment expertise and client service which have been the hallmarks of our business.”

Sarasin currently has £18bn invested thematically and sustainably on behalf of charities, private clients and institutions.
