Sarasin and Partners announced the hires of Alastair Baker as fund manager and Cédric Phounpadith as head of investment risk, bolstering the asset management team.
Baker, who joined Sarasin and Partners in February, works alongside chief market strategist Guy Monson on Sarasin’s Target Return strategies. Before moving to the Sarasin team, Baker spent time at Abrdn and Schroders building a 14-year career in investment.
Phoundpadith moved to Sarasin from Vanguard in August, where he worked for over four years. Since beginning his career in 2010, Phoundpadith has held positions at HSBC Global Asset Management, Standard Life Investments, CPG Partners and Kames Capital, with a focus in risk management.
Subitha Subramaniam, head of asset management at Sarasin and Partners, said: “The addition of Alastair and Cédric adds further weight to our growing asset management team.
“Their appointments reinforce our ability to deliver multi-asset solutions to meet our clients’ needs. They also enhance our capacity to safeguard our clients’ investments, ensuring we continue to manage the risk we take on behalf of our clients in a prudent manner.”
In November of this year, the company appointed six new partners, including Alexander True and Tania McLuckie for the charities team and Stephen Rothwell, Nick Wood, James Fishbourne and Graeme Bruce for the private client team. Sarasin holds £18.2bn in investments.
