With a focus on European bond strategies, Manek will be based in London and will report to Adam Cordery, the group’s global head of European fixed income, Santander said.

According to Santander, Manek’s last seven years were spent working on Schroders’ flagship EUR/GBP mutual funds and managing segregated mandates.

An engineer by trade and a CFA charger holder, Manek will work primarily on the group’s three Euro credit mutual funds, Santander said.

Cordery said: “I am delighted Divya has decided to join the firm. She is a strong addition to the recently created European Fixed Income team and I look forward to working with her.”
