Chris Rodgers (pictured) has been promoted to the newly created role of head of investment and risk at Sanlam Investments.

He was previously head of UK equities and the move will see him step back from his portfolio management responsibilities.

A spokesperson for Sanlam confirmed to Portfolio Adviser that Andrew Evans, who has been co-manager with Rodgers on the Sanlam UK Active fund for over three years, assumed the lead management role on 1 July 2021.

Moving forward, Rodgers will assume responsibility for all direct investment teams, which includes a growth strategy run by Mark Boucher alongside Mark Swain, as well as the investment performance and risk team.

Reporting to chief executive Haydn Franckiess, Rodgers will be based in London.

He spent 20 years at Schroders before moving to HSBC Asset Management as head of UK equities. He was a founding partner at Four Capital, which was acquired by Sanlam in 2013.
