Barry Cowen joins Sanlam next week and will report directly to Charles Brand, Sanlam’s managed funds director.
Chief investment officer Stephen Jones said he had been looking for some “exceptional talent” to lead the UK retail team and had found it in Cowen, who was formerly of Belgian group George Petch International and Société Générale Investment Management.
“Sanlam offers both investment portfolios and risk profiling which helps IFAs de-risk their business,” said Jones. This service has gained a lot of traction with the intermediary community.”
“We have already achieved strong performance and with Barry’s asset building expertise we believe we will continue to provide a truly compelling offering,” Jones said.
