Rajkumar left BNY Mellon in May this year after nearly two years as head of investment solutions. In total, he has 18 years’ relevant experience, the vast majority of which has been in distribution and relationship management, spending 11 years with Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and leaving there in 2007 as investment sales director responsible for discretionary sales and IFAs across the UK.
He joined BNY Mellon after two jobs in just over two years, with Fidelity and Quercus Investments.
At UBS he will report to another former Fidelity man Steve Hutton, head of UK wholesale, who himself joined in August specifically to lead the firm’s distribution through discretionary managers.
Rajkumar will take the lead in a number of key client relationships although UBS was unable to confirm which strategic partners he will be working directly with.
