The Cardiff location is the latest addition to the wealth manager’s fleet of offices, which currently stands at 13 strong across the UK and Channel Islands.

Former Brewin Dolphin divisional director Andrew Lewis (pictured) has been selected to head up the new venture.

Further investment manager hires are due to be announced imminently.

Lewis spent the last five years of his 13-year career at Brewin Dolphin looking after investments for advisers and their clients in Cardiff, Bristol and Cheltenham.

Prior to working in the investment industry, he was tearing up the pitch as a professional rugby player and received 29 caps for Wales.

Brooks Macdonald managing director Nick Holmes said the Wales office was “another significant milestone” for the group, providing exposure to a new region where the brand is not widely known.

“The Wales office opening will mark another significant milestone in the growth of our footprint across the UK as we continue to widen our reach to an expanding client base and strengthen the service we provide to clients and professional advisers in the area,” he said.
