Fund ratings firm RSMR has appointed former UBS investment director Tim Sedgwick (pictured) as an investment research manager.
Sedgwick returns to the industry 13 years on from leaving UBS to set up his own craft beer business.
He has also held investment director roles at Henry Cooke (now Brown Shipley) and Tilney Investment Management.
In the role, Sedgwick will add to the firm’s fund rating resources across a range of sectors and asset classes.
Launched in 2004, RSMR provides investment research and ratings for advice firms.
Stuart Ryan, head of research at RSMR, said: “Fund research is the foundation of RSMR, supporting our managed portfolio service, advisory portfolios and users of our ratings more widely in the market.
“We are delighted to enhance our expertise with the addition of Tim. He is clearly a talented individual who is highly regarded in the industry. He’ll be a great fit for the team and we will benefit from his experience through different market cycles.”
Ken Rayner, RSMR chief executive, added: “These volatile markets make it more important than ever that we focus on our research and portfolios, thinking all the time of the needs of advice businesses and the investment outcomes of their clients. Tim’s appointment will ensure that we continue to deliver on these essentials.”
