Lady Tana Focke is the current lead manager with Robert Royle to become her co-manager on 1 July. At the same time he will be promoted to director.
Royle has worked alongside Focke since he joined Smith & Williamson in December 2008 from Citi Quilter where he was a North American equity analyst, initially covering the technology-related sectors for Smith & Williamson.
Focke joined Smith & Williamson in 1997 specifically to manage the North American Trust from November that year, formerly the Nucleus American Trust.
Focke, who has 35 years experience of the US equity market, has no immediate plans to retire although the firm is keen to put a succession plan in place for when she makes that decision.
