Entwhistle will be based in Hereford, but will also support the company’s Bristol-based research team, particularly with fixed income products.
His most recent role was delivering investment training for the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) having previously spent three years as associate director at SLC Asset Management where he held overall responsibility for portfolio management.
Prior to this Entwhistle worked at Merrill Lynch Asset Management, rising to the position of associate director, at which point he managed £1.8bn in portfolios as part of his responsibilities.
Graham Coxell, chief executive at Rowan Dartington, said: "Ian’s appointment is significant as we seek to expand the operations from our office in Hereford. He is very talented individual with a wealth of previous investment experience.
"Given that we have recently made changes to our investment proposition model, Ian’s appointment is very timely in terms of moving the company forward, not only from our main Bristol office but from increasing our regional activity as well."
