Betteridge was formerly CIO of Prudential UK’s insurance division and joins the DFM as a non-executive director in addition to his role chairing the committee.

In the role at Prudential Betteridge oversaw assets in excess of £150bn. He also managed the PMG investment management business within Prudential, leading a team of economists, portfolio managers, quantitative analysts and actuaries.

We have got to know John over the last few months, and he is a great fit for our culture and values, as well as bringing an exceptional track record of truly strategic investment oversight, for one of the UK’s largest insurers,” said Graham Coxell, Rowan Dartington executive chairman.

“John coming on board is another example of how far we have come as a business over the last three years, he is a fantastic addition to the team,” he added.
