Richard Romer-Lee, managing director of Morningstar’s investment consulting operations in Europe, and Nigel Whittingham, managing director of Morningstar OBSR in the UK and Ireland are the two leaving the holes to fill.

Romer-Lee co-founded Old Broad Street Research (OBSR) in 1999, with Whittingham joining him as its development director in 2007. They moved to Morningstar when it acquired OBSR for £11.95m in April 2010.

Until replacements have been recruited, they will remain with Morningstar to help manage the transition.

Geoff Balzano, chief executive of Morningstar UK will run the Morningstar OBSR business operations, with Hal Ratner, chief investment officer for Morningstar Investment Management in Europe, leading the ex-UK European business operations.

Romer-Lee commented: “Now that the OBSR businesses have been integrated into Morningstar, Nigel and I recognise that it is time for us to take a break.

“We are incredibly proud of the work we have done to serve our clients and win business as part of Morningstar. We will continue to focus on client needs during this time of transition.”
