Effective from September, John Burke’s newly created role sees him brought in to boost the firm’s institutional arm, reporting to head of distribution Rob Williams.

The appointment follows RLAM’s H1 2015 report, published 18 August, which revealed that investor redemptions in the six months to 30 June totalled £1.4bn – up 152% on the same period in 2014.

Burke brings 20 years of financial services experience to the group, garnered in various asset management and investment consultancy berths, including his previous role as head of business development at Newton Investment Management.

“Burke is a great fit for RLAM and will bring fresh drive to our growth ambitions in the institutional space,” said Williams.

Burke added: “I am delighted to be joining RLAM at such an exciting point in their evolution. What attracted me to this role was the commitment of the senior team at RLAM to take their institutional business to the next level.”
