Rize ETF hires head of UK, Ireland and Channel Islands from SSGA

As it seeks to ‘expedite’ growth

James Thomas (pictured) has left State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) to join European specialist thematic ETF issuer Rize ETF.

As head of the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands, he will report directly to the firm’s co-founders.

A spokesperson confirmed to Portfolio Adviser that Thomas will be heading up distribution across platforms, institutional and wealth managers.

At SSGA, he worked within the UK SPDR ETF team, focusing on wealth managers, private banks and family offices.

Prior to that he was part of the sales strategy team at JP Morgan Asset Management.

Rize ETF co-founder and director Rahul Bhushan said: “We have grown at a very healthy pace since we launched our first thematic ETFs in 2020.

“Interest in our thematic strategies has swelled in the last year, and as we move into our next stage of growth, James will bring a great deal of valuable experience across the ETF landscape which will help expedite our growth in our local market.”

Rize ETF currently has $483m in asset under management.
