Rich List 2017: Familiar names galore but no sign of Woodford

This year’s Sunday Times Rich List has been published and several familiar names from the wealth management and investment industry are present.

Former New Star founder John Duffield and family are ranked in 357th place in this year’s Rich List, with an estimated fortune of £330m.

Fund management power couple Crispin Odey and Nichola Pease are ranked in 165th place with an estimated £775m. Unlike most entries in this year’s list their fortune is estimated to have fallen, by £125m.

Also riding high are Charlemagne Capital backer Jim Mellon, in 140th place with an estimated £920m and Andy Bell of AJ Bell in 678th with £165m.

Blasts from the past include former Gartmore star manager Roger Guy, estimated at 567th place with a £200m fortune, and Jonathan Ruffer in 298th place with £406m.

Terry Smith of Fundsmith is ranked in 513th place with an estimated £220m, while North Atlantic Smaller Companies investment trust manager Christopher Mills is ranked in 370th place with £317m.
