The UK super-rich have had a successful year according to the latest list, with most having grown their fortunes. The amount needed to make the list of the top 1,000 richest people in the country is now £110m.

Still notably absent from the Rich List is Neil Woodford, who spent decades as a fund manager for Invesco Perpetual before launching his own firm in 2014.

Woodford’s continued lack of presence on the list, in spite of carrying out some of the most successful fund launches in the industry in recent years, may reflect his client-focused, low-fee approach at the new firm.

The list includes the familiar a trio of millionaires connected to Bristol-based Hargreaves Lansdown.

Co-founder Peter Hargreaves ranks in 51st place with an estimated £2.3bn of wealth, while Steve Lansdown ranks 86th with an estimated £1.5bn.

Former longstanding marketing director of the firm, Mary Barry, ranks 818th with £136m.
